Do you need to lose 15 pounds fast? There are three kinds of pounds you can lose - water, fat or muscle - which ones do you want to lose?

As you can see, most people that are talking about losing weight, do not really know what exactly this means. For nearly everyone fat comes into the mind, when they hear the word weight, but fat is only a part of it.

If you want to lose 15 pounds just so it looks better on the scale readout, then it probably doesn’t matter whether you lose fat, water or muscle. When you are looking to lose that extra ring around your belly, then you are wanting to lose 15 pounds of fat fast.

If your goal is to lose fat instead of just pounds, it is important for you to know that water makes up a part of that weight loss. Actually, especially in the first couple of days when dieting, the greatest part of your weight loss will be water.

Thousands of sites on the net pretend that they can demonstrate you how to lose 15 pounds fast. What they don’t always tell you is that losing weight fast can be dangerous to your health. Actually, it completely depends on what you view to be ‘fast’. For some people, a month would be fast while others see it as something more immediately, like a few days or a week.

To lose 15 pounds within a months would be the better goal, as it is a lot more achievable. Still, there is a possible risk involved if the weight loss is not approached correctly.

To lose 15 pounds fast, you can’t just lose water, which of course would be the easiest to lose. Your body needs water to survive. Deny the body the water and it will start to shut down.

Starvation or near starvation isn’t the answer either. It is a fact that your body will hold back when you don’t eat, so you might even increase your weight. Denying your body it’s nutrients, will trigger the alarm. Desperately trying to survive, your body will hold onto every little piece you eat - this will add weight.

You need to eat foods like fish or meat which needs a great deal of energy to digest to lose 15 pounds fast. Probably now you will think that you should eat nothing but meat or fish, but I wouldn’t recommend that either, as this option is not very healthy either. Your body needs a well-rounded diet that provides all the required nutrients. It is possible to feed your body with a well balanced diet and still lose fat pounds, you just need to choose the right foods. Before starting your weight loss plan, take measurements of your body including your weight and fat content. To measure the body fat content you can use special calipers, which are often part of tool kits available at weight loss centers. Always keep these measurements in your reach to see how you are progressing.

Here are some things you can do to lose 15 pounds fast:

1) Use herbs instead of salt , because salt is the cause for water retention. Cut back on salt and you’ll begin to shed weight.

2) Always eat 4-6 small portions daily, instead of 3 big ones - this will help your body’s digestive system to work correctly.

3) Eat foods that need more energy for digestion, this includes, raw vegetables, cheese, fish, chicken, asparagus.

4) Give your metabolism a boost with drinking water (ideally more then 8 glasses) throughout the day.

5) Exercise to build muscle, because muscle increases your metabolism naturally.

Always re-measure your body and weight every week or so and in case you aren’t seeing any positive improvements, adjust your weight loss plan and exercises.

It is possible to 15 pounds fast, if you take action and then stay with your plan.
